This describes what Craterio (the website and the desktop app) collects, why, and who it's shared with.
Signing in with Google. Downloading the app or starting a purchase requires signing in with Google. We receive your name and email address from that sign-in, and record that a download or purchase attempt happened against your account.
Feedback form. If you use the feedback/bug-report form, we store what you write and, if you choose to give one, your email address (so we can reply).
Purchases. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd., our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details directly — we never see or store your card number. We receive your email address and transaction ID from Paddle in order to generate and send your license key.
License activation. The desktop app sends a generated machine identifier (not your name or account) when activating a license key, so we can enforce the per-key seat limit. This identifier isn't linked back to your Google account or email.
IP address. Download and feedback requests briefly log the request's IP address, only to rate-limit abuse (e.g. scripted mass downloads). It isn't stored long-term or linked to your identity.
We use a small number of service providers to run Craterio, each only for what's described above:
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service above.
The site uses a session cookie/local storage from Google sign-in to keep you signed in between visits. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
To ask what we hold about you, or to have your data deleted, use the feedback form on the site (mention your email or license key) — we'll handle it directly, we're a small team.
Craterio isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
